Confronting your fear of spiders
Discover how these captivating creatures can help you overcome arachnophobia and see spiders in a new light. We're here to guide you on a journey to understanding and appreciating these amazing little critters. The whole reason I first became fascinated by jumping spiders was because both myself and my daughter, age 7, were very scared of spiders. Having followed a local breeder for several years we decided to take the leap in 2026 and purchased 6 of our own. We have begun closely monitoring and documenting the life cycle and hunting behaviours of these amazing invertebrates.

Jumping spiders: active and inquisitive companions
Jumping spiders are far from the scary creatures you might imagine. They are incredibly active and inquisitive, constantly exploring their surroundings. What's more, they come in a stunning array of colours, some of which are remarkably bright and captivating. Getting to know their vibrant personalities can truly change your perception.

Small in size, big in charm
One of the most surprising facts about jumping spiders is their small size, typically reaching only up to 22mm. Up close, they reveal eight large, expressive eyes and a surprisingly fluffy appearance. Many people find their appearance almost reminiscent of a soft toy, making them far less intimidating than other spiders.

Perfect companions for overcoming fears
Jumping spiders are uniquely suited to help with arachnophobia because of their small size and active nature. Unlike some spiders that hide away, they spend most of their time exploring their enclosures, not tucked into silk hammocks (unless they're about to moult). Watching their fascinating hunting behaviours and curious movements can be a truly engaging experience that helps replace fear with fascination.
