At Somerset Little Critters, the health and wellbeing of our jumping spiders are our top priority. We take great care when preparing every order to help ensure your new little jumper arrives safely and in good condition.

How We Package Our Jumping Spiders

Every jumping spider is carefully secured in a suitable, escape-proof container with appropriate ventilation. We then protect the container with suitable cushioning and packaging to minimise movement and help prevent damage during transit.

We also take precautions against temperature fluctuations. Depending on the weather and conditions, suitable insulation and other temperature-control measures may be used to help protect our spiders during their journey, for example, during the colder weather a heat pack will be included.

Our packaging is selected with the needs of live jumping spiders in mind, and we take care to avoid overheating, excessive moisture and restricted ventilation.

How do you package live jumping spiders?

Every spider is placed into a secure, escape-proof container featuring suitable ventilation. These containers are cushioned inside along with protective packaging to minimise movement and eliminate transit stress. We also include heat packs to protect against sudden temperature drops.

Which days do you dispatch orders?

We post orders from Monday to Thursday only. We intentionally avoid dispatching on Fridays or over the weekend to guarantee your spider is never left sitting in a postal depot or delivery van over non-working days.

Which postal services can I choose from?

We offer Royal Mail Tracked 24 and Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm. While Tracked 24 is available, we strongly recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery to ensure the fastest, safest transit for your animal.

Do you deliver throughout the UK and abroad?

We offer UK delivery only. To protect the welfare of our animals, we do not ship outside of the United Kingdom.

What happens during extreme cold or heatwaves?

During colder winter months, the postage price automatically includes an appropriate heat pack to keep your pet warm. In summer, if daytime temperatures reach 30 degrees Celsius or above, dispatch is temporarily postponed until conditions are completely safe for travel.

What is your live arrival guarantee policy?

We offer a full live arrival guarantee on orders sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery. In the unlikely and unfortunate event an animal does not survive the journey, you must send clear video or photo proof immediately upon arrival.
